Exorcist Onmyoji Puzzle/Walthrough Guide

Here’s a brief guide on solving the puzzles in the Exorcist Onmyoji game, along with explanations. This guide will cover all the puzzles and provide a complete walkthrough focused solely on the secret ending. Additionally, it will include some helpful tips and tricks.

CGs

Before we get to it, we need to explain how to obtain the CGs.
The game has only two types of CGs: the ones with the pills, which you need to eat before the boss fight, and the defeated ones, which only trigger in the boss rooms. To get the defeated CGs, you need to reach a low HP and enter the boss room without taking the pills. For the other type, you should ensure your HP is decent and take the pill. You can collect all the CGs by going for the hidden ending, which is detailed in this walkthrough.

PUZZLES

This contains all the hints for the puzzles, so feel free to check them out, along with the answers if you’d prefer not to tackle the puzzles yourself.

I’ll guide you through the puzzles using the walkthrough I created.

PUZZLE 1

Hint:Count all the legs of the creatures to form the numbers and do the maths
4 legs X 8 legs – 6 legs=026

PUZZLE 2 (fire boss)

Hint:you need to move the bodies to spell death using the first letter of their name
so the order will be:
Daito
Eason
Aiko
Takegoshi
Hashimoto

PUZZLE 3(wood/smelly boss)

Hint: This one is weird and funny to me.

The hints say the guy is obsessed with anything related to 8. All you need to do is add the latest date to 8 of the series, but here’s the kicker: it’s not 8, but 9.

I don’t know if this was intended or if it’s a cruel joke, but all you need to do is add 9.

These are the codes:

PUZZLE 4(nail)

There will be three cursed item and you will have to guess how many nail should be put in each one
Hint:he Hannya mask on the wall with different color represents the cursed object by color
The amount of nails are
White skull 5 nails
Crimson eye 6 nails
blue voodoo 9 nails

PUZZLE 5(safe)

Hint:this is simple just put the dates from the oldest childs birth day to the youngest
The order is

PUZZLE 6(gold boss)

Hint:the walls have the pattern that you need to use
just ignore the last Chinese letter and focus on the first two since its on the wall

PUZZLE 7(wood boss)

Hint:this is a easy puzzle,just use it the number as shown in a clock

PUZZLE 8(water boss)

Hint:you will need to make sure all rows makes the same amount and there will be some painting already locked in

Exorcist Onmyoji Walkthrough

EDIT(normal ending is kinda bug at the moment since it will always lead you to losing to the final boss)

Initial interactions

1. Talk to Ghost: Go to the bottom right and speak with the ghost in the upper left corner.
2. Collect Lighter: Move down to find the almost empty lighter.

Puzzle Box and Gramophone

3. Find Puzzle Box: Head to the main area and proceed to the upper right to locate the puzzle box.
4. Use Gramophone: Retrieve the record and place it in the gramophone.

Basement Exploration

5. Clear Boxes: Enter the basement and move the boxes. If you make a mistake, either leave the room or use a pill.
6. Collect Items:

• Find the lantern in the bottom corner.
• Above the lantern, grab the rusty jewelry box key.
• Ahead, collect the t-shirt with an odd smell.
• In the top corner, find a broken wooden puppet.

Endless Hallway

7. Return and Explore: Head back to the main area, then go to the upper right to enter an endless hallway (a cutscene will break it).
8. Explore Doors: Check the first two doors (avoid the third door and any with sigils).

• First Door: Tattered female doll, worn-out wood talisman, black chess piece.
• Second Door: Gold box (use the jewelry box key for the necklace) and a dress with a woman’s scent.

Create Water Shikigami

9. Combine Items: The necklace, dress, and female doll create the water shikigami (water beats fire, fire beats gold, gold beats wood, wood beats earth, earth beats water).

Second Floor Exploration

10. Take the Ladder: Go up to the second floor and collect:

• Rusty desk key
• Sandalwood incense
• Kimono with an old person scent
• Worn-out teddy bear
• Worn-out earth talisman
• Rusty basement key

Top Left Room

11. Return to Main Area: Head to the top left to get the shirt with a youthful vibe.
12. Collect Tattered Doll: Move downward, then back up to find the tattered person doll (the right room is for later).
13. Combine for Gold Shikigami: Use the sandalwood incense, kimono, and old doll to create the gold shikigami.

Interact with Ghosts

14. Ghost Interactions: Interact with three ghosts on this floor, once each:

• Talk to the blue brain ghost (right and up).
• Speak to the knight ghost (down).
• Visit the previously unchecked right room and talk to the ghost with black eyes.

Bottom Left Room

15. Ghost Room: Return to the main area and enter the bottom left room filled with ghosts. Stay still to avoid damage.
16. Prepare for Boss: In the left corner of the boss room (water shikigami), prepare for the boss by stripping and eating a pill.
17. Collect Items: Find the fire gem and pills.

Progression and Collectibles

18. Touch the book (puzzle 2).
19. Return to the ghost room, go to the top right, and find a hidden passage using the rusty key.
20. Collect Additional Items:

• Tattered male doll
• Rusty study key
• Worn-out water talisman

Defeating Monsters and Collecting Gems

21. Defeat Smelly Monster: Go to the top left and use the gold shikigami to defeat the smelly monster.
22. Collect Gems and Pills: Gather the wood gem and 2 yin yang pills, then touch the book.
23. Basement Access: Head to the opened basement (puzzle 4).
24. Use Rusty Study Key: Return to the main area, go to the right corner, and use the rusty study key (puzzle 5) to get the fire element talisman (fire gem) and a stopwatch.

Final Collectibles

25. Access Blocked Areas: Return to the top left corner to access areas the ghosts were blocking:

• Figurine with benevolent obsession
• Teddy bear, figurine, and t-shirt for the wood shikigami
• Worn-out gold talisman
• Suit with a man’s scent
• Combine the pocket watch, suit, and male doll for the fire shikigami.

Boss Room and Ending

26. Enter Boss Room: Go back to the right corner and enter the boss room with the gold shikigami to collect the gold gem and 2 pills.
27. Touch the Book: Interact with the book (puzzle 5) for dairy note 2.
28. Climb Ladder: Go up the ladder to the boss room on the right with the chess (wood shikigami) to collect the earth gem and pills.
29. Touch the Book Again: Interact with the book (puzzle 7) for dairy note 1.
30. Get White Chess Piece: Return to the top left corner to get the white chess piece (black and white chess piece with the doll = earth shikigami).
31. Final Boss Room: Go to the bottom right and enter the boss room for the water gem and 2 pills.
32. Final Book Interaction: Interact with the book (puzzle 8) for dairy note 4.

Conclusion

By now, you should have all 5 gems and 5 dairy notes. Return to the main area and enjoy the secret ending!
