Affectionate Annie Game Review

Today I’m reviewing Affectionate Annie by HFTGames. The developers never cease to amaze with their prolificacy – for 6 years they released 11 games. A constant and legitimate question – do developers learn from their mistakes, or in 6 years they continue to make average products on the engine for unicums (Unity)?

About the story & gameplay

The plot in the game is extremely primitive. We play as Annie, she is the owner of a small resort and is mainly engaged in the fact that “entertains” the arriving guests in a very unusual way for the normal world. Many visitors of her resort are aware of the oddities of the main character and do not pay any attention to our lover of public scenes – so the developers apparently justified the lack of AI in the local population (here again wooden Unity).

Gameplay in Affectionate Annie is divided into two parts – story and freeplay. There are only 12 story quests, unfortunately there is no real gameplay here – we take a task, go to the right place and after a very long conversation we get a scene. During the scenes, as in the last game of the studio – Angel’s Awakening – there is an opportunity to freely rotate the camera and slightly control the poses.

Freeplay comes after each story scene – during this time we as Annie can freely walk around the resort town and harass the unreliable residents, and the further we move in the story, the more random residents are offered to us. For each successfully “completed” scene Annie gets Affection points, which can be spent to open different costumes for the main character, and if Annie goes for a long time without “doing anything” during the freeplay, she loses these Affection points.

On the classics – the studio wrote blatantly smutty dialog for you and saturated the entire storyline with it.

Jerkability

Affectionate Annie is quite a fapable game, as well as the studio’s past games. It doesn’t have a lot of stars, but it’s still better than 80% of H-games on the market.

The ability to rotate the camera during scenes adds spice to the action, the gorgeous voice acting of the main character lifts the mood even when the game is minimized (is it really the developer’s wife?).

The model of the next heroine is good, which, unfortunately, again can’t be said about the secondary characters. The thing is that here again the Unity male character assets were used – practically unblinking, emotionless minor characters, who roam from one game to another only to poke their logs into really well-drawn models of girls.

Having carefully weighed all the above pros and cons, as well as assessing my personal mood when playing Affectionate Annie, I’m ready to give the game 4 ♥♥♥♥ Jerkability of 5 ♥

Final Opinion

To be honest, personally I was disappointed with Affectionate Annie. The studio’s previous games showed that developers can write good scenarios and plots, but here we just have a lusty Annie wandering around and pleasing everyone without a plot.

Despite the fact that the player was given the opportunity to move freely around the world and choose an activity “to his liking”, the game is still a simplified sex sim with no clear gameplay. In simulators you arrange the figures yourself, you choose the poses – and here it’s the same, but everything is already arranged for us, plus a little story.

Besides, the game has some wrong mood. Regular readers of my reviews have already realized that I like Seduction and Corruption genres the most, they imply that we induce the girl to some consequences – and here the girl is initially already in “corruption” and ready for anything.

As in previous games from HFTGames – Affectionate Annie has a wonderful voice acting, the oohs, ahhs and sighs are as always on top. Imagining how this voice-over was recorded is even more interesting than playing the game.

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to thank the developers for the “content”, I can’t recommend the game to everyone. It’s up to you to buy this game or not, it’s quite possible to enjoy it, but be prepared for the fact that in front of you is not a full-fledged game, but a set of good scenes with some simple plot and sandbox. It would be cool if the developers at least once tried to use for their games not Unity, but Unreal – practice shows that H-games on this engine are much better, but the developers are stuck in the ceiling of the free engine and, apparently, are not going to move anywhere, although they are trying different genres.
