Guilty Hell: White goddes and the city of zombies Game Review

Guilty Hell was developed by Kairi Soft, a small Japanese studio, and is currently the studio’s only game other than Guilty Hell 2.

The plot is simple – the magical forest is attacked by the undead, who like to drink the juices from the local fairies. The fairies are not happy about it – and therefore, in order to avoid the extinction of their species, they call for help from the Goddess, that is us. Our direct task is to protect the forest of fairies and, if possible, to find out who and for what purpose collects magic energy from fairies and breeds creepy mutants.

Guilty Hell gameplay

The key feature of metroid is acquiring abilities that allow you to climb into previously inaccessible places and unlike them, our Goddess already has all the abilities to overcome any obstacles from the very beginning.

So, our goddess immediately has not even double, but triple jump, plus a small ability to fly. The combat system will not change once during the whole passage – the main attacks are always with us. We are free to buy magical abilities and strengthen the heroine with new clothes.

Otherwise, though, all the other elements of Metroid are in place. We have a rather large map, with a lot of optional locations. There is a pumping system with a set of levels, with the ability to slightly adjust the stats of the Goddess, because of which the game has a small element of grind and backtracking.

Of course you can easily overcome any enemy and without a set of levels, but in Guilty Hell in addition to the usual enemies also brought not the easiest bosses. On one of these bosses I personally had to make as many as 20 runs, and I am not the first time I play games of this genre. In general with the complexity of the game is full of order =).

Controversial points

From the description of the gameplay part, Guilty Hell looks great. In fact, there are quite a lot of controversial moments in the game.

The game has an extremely unambiguous visual style. It is both delightful and horrifying at the same time. The models in the game are made at a pretty good level and resemble animated models from RenPy games. On the other hand – the environment and design of locations raises a lot of questions, because their visual style rejects by its unsightliness and… shoddiness. Yes, it’s clear that the game is created by a small studio, but having spent a lot of time on creating animation with a whole bunch of enemy types, it was impossible to think about how the scenery will look?

This approach causes a feeling of incompleteness of the game, although in fact we have a finished product sold in Steam at the price of a medium-budget game. With time you can get used to such controversial moments and enjoy the game, because it all adds up to the unique style of Guilty Hell. They’ve managed to add 2D backdrops to 3D graphics…

Jerkability

In terms of Jerkability Guilty Hell is very similar to Sinisistar, where the eroticism of the picture borders on excessive cruelty of what is going on. The thing is that there is only one erotic scene with a human in the game. Everything else is zombies, monsters, worms, mutants and other filth, in no way raising a bump. That said, the heroine herself looks sexy, as do all the women in this game.

A simple example. During the course of the story, we visit a human prison with a squad of prisoners. What is your first thought in a game with erotic content? Right, to go see what happens to the GG. But instead of giving us the opportunity to be torn apart, we will enter a battle where we will first be beaten with sticks, bringing us to the gameover, and then show the scene.

As a result – it seems interesting to see what this or that monster will do to our Goddess, but you have to get used to the fact that instead of piercing her beautiful place, the mutant will pierce her head with a tentacle, and zombies instead of pulling down her skirt, sometimes will pierce her through with a real spear. But sometimes the skirt will be pulled down too =).

The number of animations for each of the enemies, which will change depending on the number of these enemies and the state of the protagonist at the moment of “capture”, is amazing. All of these scenes can be looped to stop the heroine from taking damage, but still, what is going on is more interesting than the desire to fanfap. The game deserves ~3 ❤❤❤❤ Jerkability out of 5, for the quality of animations and their quantity.

Verdict

Guilty Hell is a good game. It tries to combine things that don’t fit together, sometimes it succeeds, sometimes it’s too much, but overall I enjoyed it and I’m going to go through it again to collect all the achievements on Steam.

Those who enjoyed Sinisistar and Aliens Quest: Eve should check out the game. Since the game is sold on Steam – there will be no link to the game. The game is worth buying only at a discount, for the full price it won’t fulfill your expectations.

Let’s wait for the second part and see what Kairi soft will do again. Judging by the screenshots, the visual style of the game will remain unchanged, which, as I said before, is controversial, but it doesn’t interfere with the game.
