Today we’re reviewing a game that no one seems to have noticed. We are talking about Embarrassed Shina-chan~ the Naked Wandering College Girl, aka HazukaShina-chan.
Immediately I inform you that I do not recommend this game for purchase.
What’s the point
A young girl, a student of a local college, after a good party wakes up in the middle of the city completely naked. The girl is shocked by the fact that she doesn’t remember anything about what happened, but she has to get out somehow! She knows the neighborhood and it’s easy enough to get home, but now she has no keys to the house, no phone, no money, no clothes.
The town has a local analog of social rating (hello China), plus the way home goes through the college where the protagonist studies. The player’s task is to find the missing items scattered around the city and…not to be raped. Or get caught by the police.
On the game’s page we are promised urban stealth and 8 endings.
Gameplay
Our heroine has only 2 main characteristics – reason and reputation. Every time our Shina-chan is noticed by others, she loses both her intelligence and her reputation, and if her intelligence drops to zero, she will become a gameover, so she must hide from others.
The city in the game is really quite large, at first the game even hints us that you can hide in entrances, garbage cans, in the grass, boxes and even in the sewers, but soon the player notices that all the events are purely static and from each mess you can crawl out of only one single way, thought out by the developers.
I must admit, looking for the right “way home” was quite interesting for me, I had to really hide in garbage cans and avoid passers-by, all this is necessary to get one of the endings. Fortunately, the game has gamepad support, so you can comfortably walk around, zoom in, zoom out and swivel the camera.
The full playthrough, with unlocking all the H-content and getting all the endings, took me no more than 3 hours.
As you can see, the game looks more than nice, however, most of the players are probably interested in another question – what’s up with the Jerkability?
Jerkability
Let’s be honest, any player when buying Embarrassed Shina-chan will not be looking for that “right” way home. “Adult” games of this nature have long accustomed us to first subjecting the heroine to as many feints as possible in order to unlock the coveted H-scenes. Alas, it is on this aspect that the game falls into the abyss, and it is absolutely unclear – well, why?
The thing is that this H-content in Embarrassed Shina-chan is criminally small, there are only 4 (!) H-scenes of such nature in the game, and 3-4 more scenes with obscene actions, and this is for the whole game! And this despite the fact that the heroine for all her adventures can get into the clutches of the police in a narrow alley, can come to the construction site to a bunch of foremen, can visit the men’s restroom, etc. In all these cases, the player is simply not waiting for any scene – there will be a simple CG with an embarrassed GG, who hurriedly leaves the location, or ends the game on one of the endings (which in 80% of cases also do not contain H-content). I’d like to ask – well, what the fuck? You drew the city, you came up with a cool concept, you drew the heroine very beautifully, where is all the sweet stuff?
As I said before, it’s there, but it’s too little. Moreover, all H-content in the game is represented by static CG-art, which in my opinion is unacceptable. It would be fine if your engine did not allow you to include animations in the game, but even RPG-Maker has already learned how to do it. All in all, this game, alas, probably won’t be able to be fapable, so I give it 1 ❤️ Jerkability out of 5.
I don’t even see the point of posting screenshots with H-content, because I usually post 3-5 screenshots, and here it will be all H-content in the whole game. In order to give you some appreciation of the local awesome, in my opinion, drawing, I’ll still attach some artwork:
Verdict
Such content, such realization! And so screwed up by stupidly not drawing enough art and events. It’s a shame!
Embarrassed Shina-chan is a missed opportunity. Had the developers worked on the project properly, it would have been an incredible hit. As much as I would like to support the developers who created a game on an unusual engine with unusual mechanics, I cannot recommend this game for purchase.
If you’re an H-game developer, and you’re reading this article, DO something similar, but with really good content. Let your game be in the Corruption genre, let the scenes with the heroine depend on her sanity score and social ranking. Let every creature you meet in this city want to do all sorts of vulgar things to our heroine, and let her reaction to what’s happening depend on her stats. A scenario like this is the unwritten ground for a thousand plots about how events might unfold.
If Embarrassed Shina-chan is slowing down.
Actually the game is in good technical condition, but personally I encountered a problem – the game from the very start wildly slowed down, FPS on my 2060 was about 5-10. The problem was in the dual graphics – I’ve been working and playing on a laptop for a long time, so on the “desktop” the laptop uses integrated graphics, but games run on discrete graphics card.
Unfortunately, Embarrassed Shina-chan doesn’t initially understand which video card to use when starting it. In general, if you also have “dual graphics” and Embarrassed Shina-chan slows down a lot at the start of the game, you need to do the following:
1. Go to Control Panel (on Windows 10-11) and look for the “Graphics Settings” option:
In the graphics settings select “overview” and specify the file from the game archive – “Bakin player”. Set it to “high performance”:
Thus, we force our system to use exactly the discrete video card to run this application. In my case, the brakes are gone.
